What is WayBack?
WayBack is a social discovery app that lets you create a personal timeline based on where you’ve been, using photos and location data. When you meet someone, you can compare timelines to see where your paths have crossed — even if you were never there at the same time.
Do people have access to my location in real time?
No. WayBack does not share your live location with anyone. Your location data is private and only used to build your personal timeline. You decide what is shared, when, and with whom.
How does WayBack know where I’ve been?
WayBack uses location data from your device and the metadata in your photos (if you choose to upload them). We use this to build a visual timeline of places you’ve visited.
Can I use WayBack without sharing photos?
Yes! Photos are optional. You can use WayBack just with location data, or enrich your timeline by adding photos for more context and memories.
What happens when I meet someone using the app?
When you meet someone in real life and you both have WayBack, you can choose to compare your timelines. The app then shows you places you’ve both visited — revealing fun missed connections and shared experiences.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Privacy is a core value of WayBack. All data is stored securely, and you are always in control of what is visible to others. We never share or sell personal data.
